(no subject)

Been re-watching my Red Dwarf DVDs again this week for the first time in ages after the disapointment of the new episodes on Sunday. After watching them, I can even see Series 7 & 8 in a new light- somehow they don't seem as bad any more, even if they can't stand up to the first 6 series. I think most fans of the show are happy to agree that those last 2 series are inferior, but I can't think of anything in those episodes that actually made me cringe, whereas my head was in my paws half the time I was watching the new episodes.

I just hope now that they leave the show where it is. Any more attempts at revival will just completely muddy the legacy of the old episodes- I'd rather be left with them, and left hanging on the Series 8 cliffhanger, than have to see more substandard episodes being thrown out.
