Noticed today that the music channels on TV are now already playing Christmas music- with VH1 Classic and Magic having their entire schedules full of it, and VH1 showing a fair bit of it too (the rest of the schedule seems to be X Factor related, with shows about JLS and Jedward, just one of the many reasons no-one cares about the charts any more). Isn't it a bit early to really be showing christmas music at all, yet alone having it shown back to back, it's nearly 5 weeks away! Still, it means we're now into our endless onslaught of Wham, Band Aid and Cliff Richard, along with Noddy Holder making the money he'll need to live through the rest of the year through royalites and personal appearances (already seen him today, though it was a repeat from last year he's bound to have been payed for showing it again) before vanishing into oblivion for 11 months.

Also today, I've finally had the top of by bed taken away (it was a sort-of bunk bed, with a futon at the bottom rather than another bed), and my room already feels twice as big. It's made some room where I can hopefully put up some shelves (for my plushies ;-) ) and maybe some furry art if I can ever feel I can be open about it...

Just been channel hopping and came across an episode of Jerry Springer (didn't know they still showed it in this country, but they obviously do), and there were a couple of people in fursuits- one was an alligator, one was a raccoon. Jerry didn't explicity use the word "furry", but that's obviously what they were. They were a couple of lesbians, and the one who was a raccoon, who was seeing a man who was engaged to someone else, who came on stage dressed as a dolphin, which quickly led to a punch up, followed by the bloke's fiance who came on, causing more arguments and punch ups. First time I've seen Jerry Springer in years, and it was just bizarre. Even more so with furries involved...

I was channel hopping last night and came across something on one of the music channels called "pants off dance off". Basically, it had a fat, balding middle-aged man (complete with walking stick) slowly stripping while dancing to a particular song, while at the very end of the song, he takes his pants off (as per the name of the show), Mercifully, it was censored, but it did tell you that you can see his "bits" if you go to the website (who wants to see an old man's shrivelled gentials?). Immediatly after this was an incredibly fat woman doing exactly the same- I switched off at this point. Is this what classes as entertainment these days? Jesus!

I don't normally celebrate or care about these things, but I've just noticed that today my YouTube channel has just had 11,000 views (I don't have a clue when it hit 10,000, which would have been a better number!) as well as gaining its 43rd subscriber (just, why are so many people interested in the crap I've put up?).

Anyway, a few things a pick out-

My most viewed video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-is2o9R75c - Some old CITV stuff from 1993, just under 11,000 views!

The "why the hell have so many people watched this?" video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EunPxrB2ka8 - An old lottery draw from 1998, which nearly 5,000 people have watched!

My personal favourites:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q825wxc1mQ4 - Which has Bold's death from Farthing Wood, which still makes me feel like crying :-(
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYyG6ovsOg4 - Where Egos Dare, which is my 2nd favourite Foxbusters episode (from Series 1 anyway!). My Favourite is The Trojan Chicken, which Keen beat me to uploading!

Look what I've just found on Youtube!

Give this man a round of applause :D : D :D :D :D

Can I have the other 10 Series 2 episodes that aren't on YouTube please :-) Anyone who does so gets the biggest hugs in the world from me! I'll love you forever!

Just had a KFC meal today for the 4th time in less that a fortnight! Anyone else think that maybe I've been overdoing the fast food recently ;-)

Also, does anyone fancy joining me for an all-you-can-eat Pizza Hut lunchtime buffet at some point ;-) Haven't been in ages!

Just logged onto YouTube to see they've moved me over to the new style channels. Seeing as everyone else seemed to have been moved over but I still had the old type, I'd sort-of hoped they'd forgotten about mine- no such luck! I don't particularly like the new style that much, particularly as you can't customise the order the videos appear in- and you have to have a featured video (I prefered not having one). Also, I need to do something about that icon, the one I have now is just something I knocked up for a piece of video editing I did around 3 years back. I want to replace it with something fursona-related if I get something drawn...

Also, nearly 11,000 channel views and 41 subscribers? Where did they come from?

It's bad enough that whenever you turn the radio or TV on, you're bombarded with crap urban music these days (why is this rubbish so popular?), but the amount of artists who are adapting, sampling or using "hooks" from older songs to boost their tracks seems to be ridiculous. They're taking good songs and using them to draw attention to their own pieces of crap- songs that would be completely bland and unnoteworthy if they weren't using these samples. I know sampling is nothing new, but at least in the past it was used tastefully in dance music, rather than being used to pep up crap pieces of urban/r'n'b/rab rubbish. Over the past few months I've heard loads, and today I've heard "You're Not Alone" by Olive being used as the hook for some dreadful rap piece of crap, I think by Tinchy Stryder, but I'm not sure (it may well have been N Dubs, Flow Riders or whoever else is pumping out this crap these days- I don't pay full attention to what the DJ is saying- I assosiate the names with the music, but not the songs. It all sounds the same anyway.). This sort of rubbish is the reason why no-one cares about the charts any more, it's all trash.

Maybe it's time for me to change what radio station I listen to in the car. Trent FM is full of this rubbish, but then I can't think of any other station that's any better- all the other commerical stations are playing the same rubbish, Radio 1 has been shit since the late 90s, Radio 2 doesn't play my sort of thing and neither do any of the other stations like Virgin, and Magic and Gold are too set in the 60s and 70s (I'd prefer a station that's mainly 80s and 90s music).

Ouch!

Just seen this on the website of the local paper:
http://www.chad.co.uk/news/Woman-in-hospital-after-sign.5701620.jp

We actually went past there earlier, and I spotted part of the sign had fallen off, not nice to hear someone's actually in hospital because of it!

I'm really not sure what that was all about, was it real, was it fake? Whatever it was, it was a load of crap...

The exact words of my mum yesterday, along with an admission that the rest of the family are competely "closed minded" on anything to do with sex, porn and fetishes (a big understatement, from my past experience). Basically this sort of thing makes me more worried about being "found out" every day, as I really don't know what reaction to expect, only that it's not going to be pleasant, and it scares me. I really wish I had someone in real life to talk about this with, it would really make me feel better. I hate being stuck in the middle of this with personal feelings and in a fandom with factions that are completely at odds with the views of pretty much everyone I know,,,

In case anyone wants to know what triggered the conversation, it was an INXS music video on the TV, and a comment on Michael Hutchence's death- and she can't see him as anything but a pervert for having unusual turn-ons...

Thanks to the person over on the DS forums who pointed in the direction of the pan-European version of Boomerang going out on 8W! First time I've properly moved my dish away from 28.2E in ages! Quite enjoying the fact they're showing Count Duckula (which I haven't seen for years- bar the christmas episode which my grandmother taped for me way back in 1990 (still have the tape!)! And while you're at it, there's another good Cosgrove Hall cartoon you could buy the rights to ;-) ) and The Raccoons (including seasons 3-5 which aren't yet out on DVD), neither of which are on the UK version. In fact looking at the schedules of numerous channels it seems the pan-Europe versions are better than ours, it's a shame we seem to get a raw deal!

I've just posted my second story to FurAffinity today and I sometimes worry if me making this sort of stuff will make people have a bad opinion of me. Maybe I feel this way because to an extent I know in real life I've spent my whole life being either laughed at, mocked, judged and thought of as wierd (even by my own family). Plus the attitudes of my family to anything sexual/porn/fetish related (which is one of the few things which actually scares me- not least because I've been on the receiving end of it myself before) makes me really conscious of all this. Indeed, my family finding out about me being a furry, my fetish, and the whole yiff side of the fandom worries me (and would even more so if I was actually into and making yiff stuff myself, thank god I'm not and I don't).

But even with that aside, I do sometimes worry what people might think of me for making and posting the sort of stuff I have been doing, and I do sort of worry it might freak some people out. I won't deny I enjoy looking at, reading and writing what I have been doing, but I'd like to hope people don't judge me on it.

Seeing as everyone else is at it, here I go...

Yes, I haven't bothered changing the default wallpaper, and I really should have got round to deleting that video file after I'd burnt it to DVD... I have a load of other video files I should have deleted ages ago as well.

Does make me think though- I do want to get something commissioned for my wallpaper. Probably somehow involving me & Evita (I already have something in mind...). Yes, I'm obsessed with that vixen, so what? ;-)

Just looking through the videotapes on the shelf in my room, and the one I'm watching right now I'm sure wasn't there before! I watched through them all a few months ago, and I know I didn't watch this one! Just a shame this isn't a tape I've been particularly looking for- there's a couple of tapes that have vanished that I can't find anywhere!
jamesthedog: (Default)
Just been browsing through some old TV continuity clips on YouTube, and what do I see in an old CITV clip, but this:

Yes, the cardboard cut-out that from the moment I first saw it back in 1999 set off something which has probably occupied far too much of my time over the past decade ;-) Also just realised that last Wednesday was exactly 10 years since the first episode was shown, so happy (belated) birthday! And while I'm at it- please bring out series 2 on DVD!
jamesthedog: (Default)
I know I probably shouldn't be up this late, but I thought I'd sit up and flick my motorised satellite dish over to 19.2 to watch some of the MTV VMAs on MTV Germany (they do show them in English), and I can't believe they've got Russell Brand to host them yet again. Do the Americans even get him? Heck, do we even get him? He's immensely annoying, and crude and I don't think him talking about dongs and sex all the time is the least bit funny or amusing, it's like they've dragged him straight out of the school playground. I wonder if he puts viewers off watching things like this...

Edit, and as I'm typing this, the person presenting one of the awards (I think it was Kanye West, but I'm not paying 100% attention) has just slagged off the person who won the award and stormed off stage saying Beyonce should have won, clearly leaving the girl who actually did win quite upset and being led off stage, and the producers clearly not having a clue what to do! That's bizarre! I sort-of wish I was paying more attention so I knew exactly what was going off, but the clip's bound to be all over the internet tomorrow.
jamesthedog: (Default)
So, on an internet message board I use, the subject's come up yet again- how people who aren't "getting any" or keep hold of their virginity beyond their late teens are "sad", "abnormal", "live a boring life" and that being a virgin after a certain age is something to be mocked and pitied and all the other usual stuff. It's a common view, I hear it all the time. As an asexual, I get sick of this, the general attitude towards sex with it seems the majority of people in this country. The idea that you have to be having it or your life is pathetic, the idea that if you're a virgin then you've lived a sad, boring life. Just why do people think this way? As someone who's never considered another human being sexually attractive in my life, and never had any urges to have sex, I just can't understand why people are so bothered about what other people are (or aren't) doing in their sex life- and feel that someone not having one is something to mock, and that the word "virgin" is basically thrown around as an insult. It's little wonder I keep what I do and how I feel to myself, when I'm worried about having the total piss taken out of me for feelings I basically have no control over- and quite simply would be perfectly happy with if society didn't have this attitude towards people like me. Instead I'm made to feel as if I'm inadequate and that there's something wrong with me. In some ways, I'm glad I live the isolated, unsocial life that I do because it means at least I've (so far) not had to encounter this attitude outside the internet. Some of these things I read and hear often make me feel completely abnormal and inadequate, and I always worry about being judged by other people, and it's not fair. The fact I'm into vore and find cartoon animals attractive just makes me feel even worse sometimes as well- after all, what would people make of me being totally uninterested in what they'd judge "normal things", but being into those?
jamesthedog: (Foxy Hood)
I've decided that cute fluffy animals don't get anywhere near the attention they deserve, and as foxes are by far the cutest and most huggable of all the species, everyone should grab the nearest fox to them and give them the tightest, biggest hug you can possibly give them! And feel all cute, warm and fluffy inside! And if today's a success, we'll do it again tomorrow, and the day after that. Hey, who needs an excuse? ;-)
